The Indiana Fever played their regular season home finale on Sunday afternoon, and the result was a high-scoring affair against the Dallas Wings that eventually yielded a 110-109 win for the Fever.
As she has been time and again throughout the season, Caitlin Clark led the way for the Fever in this one (35 PTS, 8 AST, 2 REB, 10-22 FGM).
Seeing those numbers, it’s safe to say that Clark put on a show for the Fever fans in what could have been the team’s final home game of the season. After the game, though, Clark made it clear that she’s hopeful that Indiana will be playing playoff contests at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in the near future.
The Fever are locked into the six seed in the WNBA standings heading into the postseason, meaning that they will be on the road for the first two games of their first-round playoff series.
As a result, another home game is not a guarantee for the Fever, but if they play well enough, they can extend their season so that they can take the court at Gainbridge Fieldhouse again this year.
While the Fever may be the six seed, with the way they have been playing lately (Clark in particular) it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them play in front of their home fans at least one more time this season.
