Caitlin Clark is back to the grind. After a week or so on vacation during the WNBA’s Olympic break, the rookie sensation recently returned to practice with the rest of her Indiana Fever teammates.

On Tuesday, Clark debuted her first-ever Player Edition Kobe sneakers from Nike. This comes in the form of a Nike Kobe 5 Proto PE’s that comes in a yellow and black colorway.

“It’s pretty cool,” she said. “… I feel like it’s Fever but it’s also Iowa so you get the best of both worlds.”

Clark then announced that she will be releasing “another one” in the near future, which understandably got the fans all excited.

“I have another one that you’ll probably see me wear later on that is even more Fever, so just wait for that one,” she said.

Clark recently signed a sponsorship deal with Nike, which came out to a WNBA record $28 million. This entails Nike eventually dropping a signature shoe for Clark which, unfortunately, likely won’t be hitting shelves until 2025 or 2026.

So, fans who were hoping that Clark was referring to the release of her signature shoe in this recent announcement will need to temper their expectations. It’s going to be at least another year or two of waiting before Nike drops that highly-anticipated pair.

For now, though, these Clark PE’s will very likely be on sale soon, so at least that’s something to look forward to for the most avid of fans.
