Caitlin Clark has unparalleled vision when locating her Indiana Fever teammates on the court. But off of it? Some things can apparently still slip through the cracks.

Clark spoke to reporters Tuesday during the Fever’s second team practice since returning from the WNBA’s week-long Olympic break.

At one point, the conversation turned toward golf. Fever reporter Tony East asked Clark if she was aware that teammate Grace Berger was a state champion golfer in high school. It’s safe to say Clark was surprised.

“Grace was? What?” Clark replied in astonishment, before addressing Berger directly. “Grace! You were a state champion golfer? Why did you hide that from me?”

Berger fessed up that she was indeed on the team but apparently didn’t play. Before playing for Indiana University in 2018, Berger attended high school at Sacred Heart Academy in Kentucky.

With Berger on the girls golf team, the school won the state championship in 2017. Sacred Heart won again in 2023, giving the school a record 12 state titles.

Clark admitted that she has yet to play golf with anyone on the Fever just yet. Given Clark’s display of interest in golf in the past, a fairway round between Fever players is probably going to happen sooner rather than later.
