Joe Burrow played pretty well on Sunday, but it just wasn’t meant to be by the time the game against the Kansas City Chiefs ended.

Cincinnati fell 26-25 in a game where Burrow threw two touchdowns.

Following the heartbreaking loss, Burrow could be seen greeting several players on the Kansas City Chiefs, including defensive star Chris Jones.

After shaking hands and speaking briefly with the likes of Patrick Mahomes — Burrow could be seen saying, “That was fun” to Chris Jones.

Kansas City Chiefs DT Chris Jones and Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow have a bit of history.

It stems from the fourth quarter of the 2021 AFC Championship Game when Burrow shocked Jones by ducking a would-be sack and escaping outside the pocket.

Jones has never forgotten it and brought it up days before this game on Sunday.

“Joe Burrow is Joe Burrow, man,” Jones told reporters on Thursday. “(He’s a) great quarterback. Can make all the tough throws. (He’s) resilient, and (he has) got a lot of special guys around him.”

Joe Burrow Was Furious Over Controversial Pass Interference Call Vs. Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs benefited from a late defensive pass interference penalty, which helped set up a game-winning field goal during their final drive of Sunday’s tilt against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Officials determined that Daijahn Anthony hit Rashee Rice before the Chiefs’ wide receiver had an opportunity to make a play on a deep pass, and the replay showed exactly that.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was in disbelief over the penalty call, and cameras caught his frustrated reaction as he watched on from the sideline.

Burrow had a really rough showing in Week 1, but he bounced back with a solid performance against the reigning Super Bowl Champions.
