Robert Griffin III Stirs Controversy: “It’s Not Even Close!”—His Pick for Rookie of the Year Leaves Angel Reese in the Dust

The ongoing debate about who should win the WNBARookie of the Year award between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese is heating up, and it looks like it won’t be settled until the official announcement.

However, former NFL star and sports analyst Robert Griffin III has thrown his support behind Clark after the Indiana Fever’s impressive victory over Reese’s Chicago Sky.

In their recent matchup, the Fever secured a commanding 100-81 win, with Clark delivering an outstanding performance. She scored 31 points, dished out 12 assists, and grabbed four rebounds, showcasing her skills with impressive shooting stats. She nailed 8 out of 14 shots from the field and 5 out of 9 from beyond the arc.

Her efficiency was further highlighted by making 10 out of 11 free throw attempts, truly demonstrating her all-around talent on the court.

On the other hand, Reese managed a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, marking her 23rd double-double of the season. Both players made history with their performances that night, leading Griffin III to make a bold statement about the Rookie of the Year race.

Caitlin Clark just won the WNBA Rookie of the Year award after tonight’s performance,” Griffin III declared. He emphasized that the debate between Clark and Reese often comes down to valuing rebounds and double doubles versus points and assists, given their different positions on the court.

He also called out the issue of people making their public stance on the award based on race rather than actual results.

Reese and Clark make WNBA history

Griffin III pointed out the impressive accomplishments of both players but ultimately sided with Clark, highlighting her advantages over Reese. “Angel Reese is a special player, but Caitlin Clark has earned the award. The Indiana Fever are a dangerous team heading into the playoffs and Caitlin Clark has earned your respect,” he concluded.

It’s clear that Griffin III believes Clark’s contributions have been exceptional and deserving of recognition. Despite a slow start to the season, the Indiana Fever have shown their strength and resilience, now standing at a respectable 16-16 record.

The debate over the Rookie of the Year award continues to spark discussions among fans and analysts alike. With Clark’s stellar performance and Griffin III’s endorsement, it’s evident that she has made a strong case for herself.

As the season progresses and the official announcement draws near, it’ll be interesting to see how this debate unfolds and whether Clark will indeed claim the coveted title.
