Travis Kelce had two big questions to answer in the aftermath of the Kansas City Chiefs‘ shocking loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. The first one — “will Kelce play in the NFL again?” — appears to have been answered, as Chiefs general manager Brett Veach on Tuesday confirmed that Kelce has signaled his intent to see out his contract next year.
The second question about Kelce’s future centers on his romance with Taylor Swift. Roughly 18 months after their surprise relationship began, Kelce has yet to “pop the question” to Swift — many expected the Chiefs tight end to ask for her hand in marriage after Kansas City won the Super Bowl, but the Eagles dashed those dreams.
A “message” for Kelce amid Chiefs choice
As they enjoy some well-earned down time, Swift and Kelce are “teasing” fans with a possible joint appearance at the upcoming iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 17. Swift, who completed her record-breaking Eras Tour in December, is being honored with a specially-designated “Tour of the Century” award and is nominated in 10 additional categories, including for Artist of the Year.
In a video published on TikTok, Swift’s official fan club Taylor Nation played into rumors that Kelce will accompany Swift to the award show by asking fans to vote…for Kelce, as he is nominated in the Favorite Surprise Guest category after he appeared on-stage with Swift during one of her London performances. The clip does not contain new footage, but rather shows Swift and Kelce partying with Kelce’s parents after the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII last season.
The iHeartRadio Music Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, which recently hosted the 67th Grammy Awards. With Swift nominated in several categories, it stands to reason that the “Clara Bow” singer will be taking home some hardware, with or without Kelce by her side.
