Public appearances from Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift together have become very normal now, although that doesn’t mean they don’t get extreme levels of attention.

One public setting that the power couple have not been seen in yet is on the red carpet, and there is the potential for that to change at the MTV VMAs this year.

After a long spell where Kelce was preparing for the new season with the Kansas City Chiefs and Taylor Swift was completing the European leg of her Eras Tour, the couple are now being spotted together regularly in the United States of America as they make up for lost time.

They were recently seen piling on the PDA at the US Open final between Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz.

There is one hitch for Kelce

As things stand, the assumption is that Swift and Kelce will be at the VMAs together, given their host of other recent public appearances. There is no reason to think that things will be any different here, so fans can see them side by side in all of their finery.

Swift is certainly going to be invited to the VMAs thanks to her host of nominations, but there is a practice match for the Chiefs which clashes with the VMAs. That is the only question mark over Kelce’s involvement.

Swift has been nominated for 10 awards at the 2024 MTV VMAs on September 6 in New York and she could be performing on stage alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Shawn Mendes.

The 34-year-old has been on her Eras Tour since 2023 and recently closed out the Europe/Asia leg at Wembley Stadium in London, the United Kingdom leaving her with over a month before her next shows.
